Roll Through Bow and Arrow Choke
The roll-through bow and arrow choke turns the defensive turtle into a submission opportunity. By securing the far collar and somersaulting into position, you set up a tight, modified choke that’s as fun to hit as it is effective.

Attacking the turtle position is crucial in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The turtle position is often used as a defensive posture to prevent a pass, and if there are no consequences for staying in this position, you will always encounter difficulties in your passing game.
One effective technique for attacking from the turtle position is a roll through bow and arrow choke. The concept is straightforward: start by using your choking hand to grip the far collar when your opponent assumes the turtle position. This may not always be easy, so you may need to engage in hand fighting to secure the grip. Once you have a solid grip, don't hesitate. Perform a somersault over your opponent, positioning your head in the space between their triceps and knee, while simultaneously grabbing their leg with your free arm.
At this point, your opponent will be in your lap. To finish the move, execute a hip escape and drive your open knee into their side, creating a modified bow and arrow choke.
Give it a try; this is a fun finishing move and may appear more challenging than it actually is.
